Hi — I’m Michael Vlassis. I’m not another business coach. I’m a real SME operator who’s spent the last decade inside businesses, not just talking about them — but actually running them.
With a BA in Business Management and an MBA in International Business, I’ve worked in leadership roles since 2016 — building teams, managing operations, launching products, and growing a global SME that exports to over 140 countries.

Why I started the SME Specialist?
This project lived in the back of my mind for years — but in late 2024, while writing my book and becoming a dad, I finally turned it into a mission.
I started The SME Specialist because I saw the same patterns over and over: Owners working non-stop, making decisions emotionally, and avoiding numbers because they didn’t feel “qualified.” I’ve been there. I’ve felt lost and burned out too. What changed things for me was structure, visibility, and simple tools that actually worked.
What I Believe
Most SME owners treat their business like a family member — protecting it, forgiving its flaws, hoping it will improve on its own. But hope isn’t a strategy.
